Why Do Most Drivers Skip It?

Because tyre wear is invisible until it is obvious.

Unlike a warning light or a strange noise, uneven wear does not announce itself while you are driving. Your car feels normal. Then one day you crouch beside the car and notice one shoulder of your front tyre is nearly bald while the other still looks fine.

By that point, it is too late. Uneven wear cannot be corrected through rotation — the tyre needs replacing.

Regular rotation catches this before it happens. It costs a fraction of a new tyre, takes less than an hour, and can extend tyre life by 20 to 30 percent. In Ajman’s heat — where rubber already wears faster — that margin matters.

How Often Should You Rotate?

• Every 8,000 to 10,000 km is the standard recommendation.
• A simple way to remember it: rotate your tyres every time you change your engine oil. The intervals are similar for most vehicles, and combining both into one visit saves you a trip.
• A few situations call for rotating a little earlier:
• If you do mostly city driving around Ajman — short trips, speed bumps, frequent turning — your front tyres work harder. Around 7,000 km makes more sense.
• If you notice your car pulling slightly to one side, that often points to an alignment issue, which accelerates wear on specific corners. Rotation helps short-term, but an alignment check is the real fix — something we can do during the same visit.

What We Do During Your Rotation at Marwat Garage

When your car comes in, we lift it and remove all four wheels.

Before remounting anything, we measure tread depth at multiple points on each tyre — inner shoulder, centre, and outer shoulder. This tells us exactly how each tyre is wearing and whether the pattern is pointing to an alignment problem, inflation issue, or a suspension component worth looking at.

We then move the tyres to their new positions using the correct rotation pattern for your drivetrain. Front-wheel-drive vehicles use a different pattern than rear-wheel-drive or AWD — getting this wrong can actually make wear worse, not better.

While the wheels are off, we check brake pad thickness, rotor condition, and set all four tyres to the correct pressure for your vehicle — not a generic number.

The Rotation Patterns — Quick Guide

• Front-wheel-drive: Front tyres go straight back. Rear tyres cross to opposite sides at the front.
• Rear-wheel-drive: Rears go straight forward. Fronts cross to opposite rear positions.
• AWD and 4WD: Full X-pattern or forward cross to equalise wear across all four positions.
• Directional tyres (V-shaped tread) can only move front to back on the same side — they cannot cross.
• Staggered fitments (rear tyres wider than fronts) cannot be traditionally rotated. Some performance vehicles fall into this category — we will confirm yours when you bring it in.
