Emission controls refer to the systems and components in your vehicle that reduce harmful gases released into the atmosphere. These systems work together to filter, recycle, and neutralise toxic byproducts of combustion before they exit through your exhaust.

Key components of your car’s emission control system include:

• Catalytic converter — converts harmful gases like carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HC) into less harmful substances
• Oxygen sensors — monitor exhaust gas and help the engine adjust the fuel-air mixture for cleaner combustion
• EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve — recirculates a portion of exhaust back into the engine to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions
• PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve — routes crankcase gases back into the intake manifold instead of releasing them into the air
• Evaporative emission control (EVAP) system — prevents fuel vapours from escaping into the atmosphere

Step 3 — Visual & Physical Inspection

We physically inspect the catalytic converter, oxygen sensors, EGR valve, EVAP system, and all connected pipes and seals. Cracks, blockages, and leaks are common in the UAE’s hot climate and are often missed without a hands-on check.

Step 4 — Targeted Repair or Replacement
